Why The Dandelion?

We at IamMore®, believe the dandelion personifies our vision as a foundation. When you are young, the dandelion is full of magic, but as you grow older imagination fades and it becomes nothing more than a bothersome weed. Despite its flawed perception, the dandelion is the most selfless plant, as its seeds are blown into the wind for the fulfillment of another's dream. These seeds, along with one's wish, are efficiently dispersed by radiating threads that act as parachutes. By spreading and creating new growth, the seeds allow others to wish new dreams and be filled with the same sense of wonder. To us, the dandelion is a representation of sacrifice and hope. 

This illustration of nature's magic is how we see children diagnosed with chronic conditions. Many children may feel like the dandelion, overlooked and under-appreciated, as they struggle to face the daily obstacles of their condition. Rather than being defined by their medical circumstances, they can be identified by their passions and become seeds of inspiration, hope, and strength in the world. 

IamMore® Foundation strives to become parachutes to children with disabilities. Our radiating hearts and hands serve to spread the seeds of inspiration and hope planted by these children, carrying them further and empowering them to be immeasurably more than their diagnosis.
